Pilar is a Mexican abstract artist whose work explores emotion, light and movement as a language. She has an extensive background in Design and Jewelry Making, and a deeply aesthetic sensibility.
Pilar transforms color and texture into visual experiences that evoke balance, energy and connection. Her brand, Mainou, reflects the union between the precision of detail and the freedom of gesture.
“Creating works that invite you to feel rather than just look”
From a very young age, I felt a deep fascination with beauty, with forms that communicate without words, and with colors that seem to have a life of their own. My path began in the world of design and jewelry making, where I learned to transform the noblest metals into pieces full of emotion.
Over time, I felt that this same sensibility could expand beyond metal and gemstones, onto a canvas, where color and texture offered me a new form of expression.
This is how Mainou was born, as a natural extension of my creative story. Each work reflects a constant search: to transform what I feel into movement, energy and light.
Painting has become my space of freedom, where my passion for detail, my love of aesthetics and my desire to connect with others through emotion come together.
Today my work continues to evolve toward a freer, more intuitive language, where every brushstroke is a conversation between who I am and what I discover in the process of creating.

One of Mainou Art's pieces leaves the studio to join an exhibition at Holy Art Gallery, Roma Norte, inviting viewers to a direct encounter with the work.

A recent selection of works on canvas brought together under the curatorial eye of Antonio Sánchez, highlighting new readings, processes and nuances within my painting practice.
A glimpse into the space where the works are born: the studio, the materials and the creative process that brings each piece to life.
My creative process is a dialogue between intuition and material. Each work begins with an emotion that I then express through color and movement. I work mainly with high-viscosity acrylics, fluid inks, oil and pigments, combining layers that overlap like memories and resonances.
In my studio, the process becomes almost a ritual: I prepare the canvas freely, let the color flow and then contain it with more precise gestures, seeking balance and depth. I listen to music, observe the light and allow emotions to show in the rhythm of each brushstroke.
Each painting is born from a moment of connection with myself, with beauty, with the invisible, and becomes a tangible expression of energy and presence.
